Sussex Walk

September 9, 2011

Hi folks,

Dom will be leading this local walk –

Saturday Sept 17th – Discover the Downs on your Doorstep
Meet 12pm, east side of Moulsecoomb station. Walk is 5-6 miles long with a few steep slopes en route.
Our most urban walk to date, exploring the familiar and not so familiar parts of OUR downland – the hills surrounding Hollingdean, Moulsecoomb and Bevendean. We will take in the archaeology and stunning views of the ancient Hollingbury Hill Fort, as well as the controversial scrub clearance at Moulsecoomb Wild Park. We will then cross the busy Lewes Rd to reveal areas of Access Land little known even to many local residents: the secluded Hog Plantation, only a stone’s throw from Falmer Academy/BACA, and the extensive flower-rich grasslands of the Bevendean Valleysides.
Discover the hidden treasures in your backyard!
