Torquay – a history and celebration

November 18, 2011

Always pleased when a book  I wrote some time ago comes back into print!

My history of Torquay is now published again by Francis Frith.

Written for the general reader rather than the academic, and illustrated throughout by the famous old Frith photographs, the book takes the story of the town from prehistoric days, via the abbots of Torre and Napoleon Bonaparte, to the Second World War blitz and the growth of the resort.

If you want one you can order through any bookshop, or order from the Francis Frith website http://www.francisfrith.com. The price is £18.00

Title: Torquay – A History and Celebration, by John Bainbridge (Francis Frith).  ISBN Number: 978-1-84589-659-1

That’s great news, hopefully some royalties for the Bainbridge household!
If you’d like a review in Open Space please send me a copy.
