Edward Cawston Thomas Poetry Prize

July 28, 2013

The Edward Cawston Thomas Memorial Prize

The Edward Thomas Fellowship is launching an annual prize in memory of the former Chairman of the Edward Thomas Fellowship, Edward Cawston Thomas, who was a grandson of the poet.

The first year’s award, in 2014, will be for a poem, which can, but need not, be connected with Edward Thomas in some way. The winning entry will be chosen by an eminent poet and announced on the Fellowship’s website and in our members’ Newsletter. The prize will be £100.00.

Entries, which must not have been published previously, should be sent to Richard Emeny, Chairman, Edward Thomas Fellowship, Melrose House, 4 High Street, North Petherton, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA6 6NQ. Submissions will not be returned. An entry fee of £10.00 for those over 21 years of age and £5.00 for those under 21 should be sent with each entry. The deadline for submissions is 30th June 2014.

The award will be made at the Fellowship’s Birthday Walk and Annual General Meeting in March 2015 and the winner will be informed in good time beforehand.
