Restoring Paths After Ploughing

August 3, 2013

Public Rights of Way law states that paths have to be restored after ploughing etc.Pitlochry and Dunkeld Woodlands 011

As we all know many are not.

It takes little effort to restore a path. Please report any paths that have not been to your local highways authority.Pitlochry and Dunkeld Woodlands 011

Also please report obstructed paths on the Ramblers Association website.

The pictures here show an old path, nicely restored, thank you to the farmer, at Pitlochry in Scotland.Pitlochry and Dunkeld Woodlands 012Pitlochry and Dunkeld Woodlands 013

As this is Scotland this is a path by custom, rather than the waymarked and definitive-mapped paths we have in England and Wales, but it just shows what can be done. The restored path is even wider than these pictures suggest.
