A Walk in Sussex

August 27, 2013

Saturday 31st August  East Dean to Beachy Head, Birling Gap.

This six and a half mile walk starts out from East Dean, through the access land from Cornish Farm, up to Beachy Head, crossing through countryside littered with tumuli, settlements, field systems, archaeological delights.  We’ll take the South Downs way along the crest of the cliffs , past Belle Tout lighthouse, to Birling Gap, with the fantastic views of the Seven Sisters.  Back via the access land at Went Hill to East Dean.

At Birling Gap we could take a dip in the sea, search for fossils or get tea and cake in the café. There is also the possibility for anyone wanting a longer walk to carry on along the clifftops. Something for everyone.
