Walk a Path Today and help keep them open

January 6, 2014

Or at least please walk one once the rain stops and the floods have gone away.

If you have an hour or two to spare then why not seek out and walk a footpath or bridleway in your area today. Perhaps you have never walked a path or not walked a path for some time.

Make a note of any problems. Is it clear to walk or are there any obstructions? Is it properly signposted? Are the signs, bridges and stiles in good condition? Is the path well waymarked, or did you have difficulty following the route?

Please then report any problems to your local council. Copy your report to the Ramblers and the Open Spaces Society via their websites.

Some councils and rambling groups operate “Adopt a Path” schemes. Why not adopt one?

And how about getting your friends and family out to walk other footpaths and bridleways?

With your help we can keep open Britain’s wonderful network of footpaths and bridleways.
